- Annotation: The article examines the ROSTA Windows of May-June 1920, created by Vladimir Mayakovsky as an artist and author of texts in order to analyse the artistic means that allowed the poet to hold the audience’s attention for six months of the acute phase of the Soviet-Polish war. Of particular interest are the cases when the Window does not have a bright information reason, being a repetition of previous events. Vladimir Mayakovsky recodes the semantic poles and creates an ironic shift due to the discrepancy between the depicted and the captions under the frames, or, on the contrary, finds an exact match between the meanings of the language game in the graphics. The introduction of symbols and myths serves to expand the local meaning of events to a global and universal scale. Performatisation allows the recipient to become an active participant in the event.
