- Annotation: The paper presents an analysis of the use of conjunctions in forming multi-component complex sentences with several clauses of condition, cause, purpose, concession. The paper describes the factors influencing the repetition of conjunctions for homogeneous clauses or the use of various conjunctions and their modifications. The use of the same conjunctions emphasises the structural and semantic homogeneity of the predicative components of a sentence, while to place accents, conjunctions are modified with particles, lexical actualisers, correlative and generalising words, and combinations with coordinating conjunctions. The use of various conjunctions when connecting homogeneous clauses serves to concretise shades of meaning or has a stylistic effect. For linking clauses of different types mainly frequent (typical) conjunctions are used, with non-typical conjunctions stylistically motivated. The contact use of functional conjunctions in multi-component complex sentences serves to compactly express multi-aspect interrelated information, which is easily perceived. The selection of conjunctions when forming several subordinate clauses of condition, reason, purpose, concession in one sentence, contributes to the proper formation of a polypredicative construction and a clear expression of the statement meaning.
