- Annotation: The article is a continuation of the study of the legal basis for the admission of new subjects of federation into Russia, and it is devoted to the disclosure of the constitutional procedure of admission. What sounds a special emphasis in the work is a formal-legal approach to the disclosure of the subject of the study. Allocation of six stages of the procedure of admission of new subjects of federation into Russia is justified. Critical analysis of proposals to change the federal constitutional law ‘On the procedure for admission to the Russian Federation and the formation of a new subject of the Russian Federation in its composition’ is critically analysed.
