- Annotation: The subject of the study is the negotiations of the USSR with the leadership of the American Ford Motor Company in 1928-1929. The planned aspects of cooperation were studied. Investigated possible forms of financial participation of the company in the implementation of the project, the expected costs. The conditions offered by the Americans for the supply of imported kits for assembling cars in the USSR have been studied. Attention is paid to the options for providing technical assistance to the USSR. The conditions for the provision of projects, drawings, specifications and other technical documentation are named. The expected construction time of the plant buildings has been studied. Service facilities planned for opening are considered. The terms of payment for technical assistance offered for the USSR are analysed. Key disagreements in the negotiating positions of the parties were revealed. Comparisons were made between individual conditions proposed by Ford and General Motors during the study period. The conclusion was made about the advantages of the Ford company, which allowed it to further become a partner of the USSR in the construction of the country’s largest automobile plant.
