- Annotation: The article examines the genesis, semantics, and poetics of musical images used in the poems by Anna Gotovtseva from 1820 to 1850. It is shown that in the artistic system of Kostroma poetess, musical images form a special level and play the role of semantic integrators. It is revealed that all those are of romantic nature and combine literary, and they have mythological and biblical origins. It is proved that the key representations of musical symbolism in Anna Gotovtseva’s lyrics are the images of the “harp” and the “chorus of angels”. It turns out that in poems created in 1833–1834 and approaching the lyrical fragment in their genre specificity, musical images refract the poetess’s impressions from actually listening to music. The paper concludes that in the process of interpreting musical symbolism, Anna Gotovtseva often combines the motif of magic, which is derived from mythology and folklore, with the motif of the Christian paradise.
