Annotation: Issues related to the study of the everyday life of the political elite have a stable scientific significance, since it is elite groups that act as key actors determining social, economic and political processes in society. In the works on the daily life of Kremlin very important persons, it is noted that from the first years of Soviet power, there had been a special order for distribution of goods, accommodation and the presence of a large number of personnel supporting the lifestyle of the political elite – from yardmen and housekeepers to dressmakers and governesses. At the same time, the politicians themselves considered that situation justified, although they did at times propose elimination of the inequality. Special attention is paid to the establishment of the Management of the Kremlin and the houses of the Central Executive Committee, which was engaged in building maintenance, provision of fuel and other services. In addition, the article touches upon the problem of food supply to the staff of the governing structures. The article formulates the main conclusion that, despite egalitarian values, the further October 1917 went, the greater was the difference between ordinary Soviet citizens and senior officials. The provision of housing, food, and medical care to a Soviet citizen did depend on their social status and position.
