- Annotation: Genetic connection of Russian linguistic investigations, whose beginning is considered to be the approach to the study of the Russian language, its history and current state, where dialects play primary role in cognition of scientific causes and connection of the phenomena of language and the fates of the people, proposed by Academician Aleksey Shakhmatov, is shown in the article. In 2024, the 160th anniversary of academician Aleksey Shakhmatov was celebrated. Kostroma dialectologists timed to this significant date a number of dialectological expeditions, whose important task during the survey of patois of Kostroma Region was to collect materials on the questionnaire of the 1st part, which had been developed under the leadership of Aleksey Shakhmatov as «Programme for the collection of features of Russian folkish patois». The main results achieved during the expeditions, are presented in this article in the aspect of the internal dialect membership of Kostroma patois; as well as a number of dialect texts from the collected materials on the subject of Aleksey Shakhmatov’s programme, which may be of interest to both Russian language historians and all connoisseurs of the living vernacular word and folkish culture.
