Annotation: The article is devoted to the study of the specifics of anthroponymy of villages adjacent to the Unzha River in Kologriv District of Kostroma Region on the basis of the analysis of the topoanthroponymy of the region. What served as the material of the study, are cartographic data of this territory, as well as information from the works of Jefim Ĉestnjakov, who reliably reflected the geographical names of his native land in his creative work. The features of personal names, formed the basis of geographical names of the region, are defined in the article; topoformants of these names are highlighted. As a result of the study, the author concludes that anthropotoponyms in the villages of Kologriv district on the bank of the Unzha River and in the works by Jefim Ĉestnjakov, are an important source for studying Kostroma regional anthroponymy. The information carried by the area of distribution of topo-bases and topoformants of the analysed geographical names, is also valuable. It allows identifying the boundaries of linguistic communities and migration routes in the territory of Kostroma Region.
